Piety vs Wide Double Gumball Drawer Pull: Which Hardware Style?

Quick answer

If you want a clean, minimalist look that blends with modern cabinets, choose the Piety Drawer Pull. If you prefer a bold, playful accent with vintage charm, the Wide Double Gumball Drawer Pull is the way to go.

Style and finish differences

The Piety Drawer Pull features a centered brass base with two slender rods, creating a sleek, minimalist silhouette. It’s designed to add a subtle pop of whimsy without overwhelming the surrounding cabinetry, making it a great match for modern kitchens, vanities, and dressers.

The Wide Double Gumball Drawer Pull, on the other hand, makes a statement with two vibrant, powder-coated spheres on each end. Its solid, unfinished brass body will develop a rich patina over time, giving it a vintage-inspired appeal that contrasts nicely with its modern, colorful spheres. This pull is perfect for adding a bold accent to a space.

Durability and maintenance trade-offs

Both pulls are made from solid brass, but their finishes differ. The Piety is available in over 30 powder-coated finishes, which are durable and easy to clean. The Wide Double Gumball also uses powder-coated spheres, but its brass base is left unfinished, meaning it will naturally patina. This is a feature for some, but it also means the base will change appearance over time and may require occasional polishing if you prefer a consistent look.

If you want a hardware finish that stays uniform for years, the Piety’s coated options may be more predictable. If you appreciate the evolving character of natural brass, the Gumball pull offers that unique aging process.

Size and visual impact

The Wide Double Gumball is a wider pull with prominent spheres, so it demands attention. It works best on larger drawers or as a focal point on a single cabinet. The Piety is more slender and understated, making it easier to pair with other hardware or use across many drawers without visual clutter.

Consider the scale of your furniture: the Gumball’s bold profile could overwhelm small drawers, while the Piety might get lost on very large, wide drawers.
